UN Climate Change Regional Collaboration Centre (RCC) partners and collaborating organizations met in Dubai at the 2019 edition of the annual RCC Global Forum, held on the margins of the World Green Economy Summit, to connect, share, and set strategies to help spur global climate action through the network of RCCs.

The UN Climate Change Twenty-fifth Conference of Parties (COP25) was held fron the 2nd to the 13th of December in Madrid, Spain, under the presidency of the Government of Chile with logistical support from the Government of Spain.

At the twenty-third session of the Conference of the Parties, the UNFCCC secretariat was requested to assist developing country Parties in assessing their needs and priorities, in a country-driven manner…

As encapsulated in the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, there is an urgent need to enhance the provision of finance, technology and capacity-building and to ensure predictability and alignment of finance for nationally defined climate and sustainable development goals.

The opening ceremony was attended by Azali Assoumani, President of the Comoros, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of WGES.

The WGEO and RCC Dubai hosted the 5th RCC Global Forum on the margins of the World Green Economy Summit, in October 2019 in Dubai UAE.

The Forum will facilitate progress towards adoption of an actionable framework allowing WGEO to engage effectively with private sector platform members in the pursuit of its objectives.
